Epic load of Tanner Crab!!

This fall has been spotty on crab until after Thanksgiving when the flood gates opened and crab starting jumping in the pot. Kings are kings so they do what they want but we have managed to pick up some each time we try.

These kings were caught before the serious snow came in Early December

The water temps have stayed above normal through the fall making for good fishing for kings on larger tides especially on the South Side of the bay.

My buddy Rob with a nice winter King we caught in an unexpected place on a pretty windy day.

We have been seeing plenty of bait around so far this winter. Small Herring in the islands and back in Bear Cove seem to be the feed Kings are focusing on. Nearly all the salmon pictured here were hooked on small Herring or my secret weapon spoon.

If you know where to go you can pickup a couple rockfish in winter
