June 17th - July 6th

Summer solstice has come and gone and the days are getting shorter again though you can hardly notice when you collapse on your pillow everynight well before midnight.

Fishing has been great, though we have had very persistent fog the last few days. obscuring views of our majestic mountains.

This is the time of year when we really start focusing on fishing further out and it has really paid off.

The Barrens are on and the buts are in force. We have been spending most of our time around Nord, Sud and Ushagat islands. The any size halibut have been averaging around 40-50lbs, the rockfish have been giants and we just wrapped up the first week of Lingcod for 2021. Still lots of juvenile lings out there but we have got some legals this week.

Salmon fishing has been hit or miss in the bay but the point adams and dogfish bay area has turned on and is a mix of pinks, kings and chums.
